Increased fitness and/or weight loss is a popular New Year’s resolution. It’s always one of mine (which clearly means I’m not good at keeping resolutions). But if you are more motivated than I am there are a number of options in the area. Some are even a great bargain. Here’s a rundown; feel free to add your own in the comments.
Community Activity Center – If you are a city resident you can join the center for $15. County residents can join for $30. They have a decent sized fitness room (bigger than the picture in the link) as well as racquetball, basketball, and various other activities. They have a very friendly staff as well. A bargain for sure as far as gyms are concerned.
RMH Wellness Center – I’ve been a member here for a while and I’m always pleased with the facility and the staff. Prices are average as far as fitness centers go. They have a wide variety of activities for everyone including non-member. Right now they have a 50% off the enrollment fee promotion going on. I believe the fee is $150, so that’s a good savings.
Gold’s Gym – I really don’t know much about this facility. Prices appear to be average for the area. They have a coupon on their site for a free one day pass.
Harrisonburg/Bridgewater Fitness - I don’t know much about this facility either. They have a location in Harrisonburg and Bridgewater. They are building a new facility in Harrisonburg that will be open 24/7. They have a free one week pass coupon on their site.
EMU Fitness Center – This center is open to the public. I don’t know anything about it but they always have nice facilities. Check the link for the pricing structure.
