Magic Jack

I just heard of this product today and I found it interesting enough to order one. I got rid of my landline phone a long time ago, but there have been times I wish I still had it. My kids have some trouble holding my small cell phone in the right place so that they can talk and on long calls my cell phone can get rather hot.

This little device plugs into your computer and a phone and allows you unlimited calling. It’s $47 (including shipping) for the first year, and $19.95 each year after that. This is apparently cheaper than similar services.

So, I figured I’d give this a shot. Today is the last day for the 30-day free trial, so if you want one you better go now!

I dunno…. I’ve heard there are lots of complaints about that product/company.

PCMag seemed to like MagicJack though

I have my fingers crossed. I did pay with a credit card in case I had problems.

30 day trial is still good.

If the cellphone form factor is an issue, why not just get one of the bluetooth-house phone bridge things?

Because I’ve never heard of one of those things :)

I am returning the MagicJack. I was not pleased with the quality at all and the thing didn’t fit on my computer well at all.
