I’ve mentioned before that I participate in a program called Buzz Agent. Through this program I have asked to test Nature’s Source Natural Cleaners and share my opinions on these products. So, I figured what better format than this blog!
I’m a big fan of natural cleaning products, but I’m a little bit too lazy to make them on my own. I admit that I love the convenience of just buying them ready made at the store. I used to use whatever was on sale, or just grabbed what I thought might work. But about a year ago I really started paying attention to my impact on the environment and no longer felt comfortable putting those chemicals in my house, or down the drain. I switched to a variety of different natural cleaners including Seventh Generation, Method, and Green Works. As part of this campaign I was given Nature’s Source toliet bowl cleaner, bathroom cleaner, all purpose cleaner, and glass cleaner. These products are natural versions of Windex and Scrubbing Bubbles.
Overall I will say that I liked using these products. I really like products that have little to no smell and I will say that the smell of all four of these products was very pleasing. It was a very light scent and I actually prefered it to some of the other cleaners that I use.
The All Purpose cleaner worked about as well as any all purpose cleaner. It cleaned well, but I can’t honestly say it cleaned any better than the Method cleaner I was already using.
The bathroom cleaner was very foamy just like scrubbing bubbles products usually are and I like that. Sometimes I have a hard time telling if I’d sprayed cleaner on certain parts of my bathtub, and this product was easy to see. It’s cleaning power was pretty good and I was satisfied with the job it did. I usually use a Method cleaner in the bathroom and found them to be about the same, with the exception of its visibility.
The toilet bowl cleaner was my least favorite of the four products. It’s scent was nice, but it just didn’t stick to the side of the bowl like I like it to. I use Green Works toilet bowl cleaner normally, and I think I’ll be sticking to that.
The glass cleaner was by far my favorite of the four. The scent was nice, it got all the spots on my bathroom mirror with minimal effort and there was no streaking. I use Method glass cleaner normally, but I think I will be switching to this product after my Method cleaner is gone.
Overall I think all four products offered a good value for the money. They run about $3 at Wal-Mart (the only place I’ve noticed them) and I think they offer a good alternative to pricier natural cleaners.
So, now that I have told you what I think about Nature’s Source Natural Cleaners, I want some of you to get to try them for free. So, the first six people to send me their mailing address using the contact form at the top of the page will get a coupon for a free Nature’s Source product!! The coupons expire August 31, 2009 and will take up to $4.19 off the price of one product.
If you don’t get in on this product, keep reading because soon I’ll be reviewing the Got2b Smooth Operator hair products.

The problem I have with most of these big company ‘natural based’ cleaners is what they are made of:
corn-based: uses lots of petroleum products, pesticides, and takes corn out of the food supply
coconut & palm kernel oils: often come from tropical rain forest clear cuts
It is not green if it degrades the environment, even if it seems better than previous cleaners.
