July- Angel Food Ministries

by Emmy on June 24, 2009

I posted that I was planning on ordering the June Angel Food Ministries box, so I thought I’d post an update. I did order the box and picked it up last Saturday. Despite the instructions saying their might be a line, I was able to get in and out in about five minutes. The food was about what I expected. It’s generic, but that isn’t a problem for me. I gave my mother some of the items, and she said she was very happy with the steaks. We had the lasagna this evening and it was good for frozen lasagna. Overall it’s a lot of processed food, but it’s worth the $30 in my opinion.

July’s box is now available for ordering and it looks even better. In the last post I was alerted to coupon code 10sig98 which takes $3 off the Signature box if you order online making it $28 (there’s a $1 online ordering fee). If you do order, please consider using my e-mail address emmycaitlin @ comcast. net (without the spaces) in the referral box.

I saw your tip and ordered a box myself. We were impressed witht the steaks – the first thing we cooked Saturday night. The lasagna and the burritos were convenient and fine. I’d say the box was worth much more than $30 and it will last the 2 of us for serveral weeks of dinners, supplemented with our own fresh vegies and fruit. The pie was missing cooking instructions, but I found them on the Angel Food website.

I like Angel Food. For $30 you get quality groceries worth about $60. That’s a big help. Volunteers distributing the food are friendly. The places to order and pick up the groceries are listed at http://www.angelfoodministries.com/hosts.asp
