This post is for all of my local readers! For those of you who don’t know, I have an 11-year-old brother (technically half-brother, but I don’t call him that). On April 1st his cousin passed away at the age of 8 from Neuroblastoma. The Catherine Elizabeth Blair Memorial Foundation was created in her memory to help fight this awful disease. Curves in Harrisonburg will be holding a fundraising event for her foundation and I wanted to share the details with all of you.

So you all know that I am a huge fan of the Weight Watchers program. If you know me personally you’ve probably wanted to tell me to shut up about it a few times. But, I thought I’d give you a little update on my progress and some exciting (to me) news. As of last Thursday I have lost 53.6 pounds and am only one pound from my goal weight!!

In even bigger news, I am now a Weight Watchers employee!!! That’s right! I will begin my training to be a receptionist at the meetings starting this week and should be working at several meetings in just a few short weeks. I hope to move on to leader training once I have reached Lifetime members status. A Lifetime member has reached their goal weight and has maintained it for six weeks.

Why am I telling you all this? Well aside from the fact that I am very proud of my accomplishments, I also want you to consider giving Weight Watchers a try! We’re in a Join for Free period right now and that means you only pay the weekly fee (or one of the other convenient payment plans) with no sign up fee! I’d also like to pack out the meeting rooms while I’m training!

Weight Watchers is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. I know other programs say that, but Weight Watchers does not require you to eat anything you wouldn’t already eat, there is no food to buy, you don’t starve and you can still eat things that you love. If you’ve been struggling at all with your weight then this is where you need to be. There’s nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about, everyone at the meetings struggle with the same issues that you do and are a great support to one another.

So, with that said, my first training will be at the meeting I normally attend, this Thursday 2/10. Weigh in and registration starts at 11:30 and the meeting runs from 12:00 – 12:30 with a getting started session immediately following for new members. The leader of this meeting is fantastic and a great source of motivation. It is located at Harrisonburg Town Center behind Valley Mall (right by Honeybaked Ham…yes, that is cruel).
